• 1898: CHS opened its doors with just 36 students and 8 teachers under the guidance of its first manager, Late Rev. A. Brash, and its first Headmaster, Late M. Venkatesh Prabhu.
• 1907: Enrollment grew rapidly to 267 students within less than a decade.
• 1909: The institution achieved a major milestone by receiving permanent recognition from the Education Department.

Building a Strong Foundation

• 1918–1935 (Late S.E. Salis): Student strength expanded to 605 with 24 teachers, prompting the construction of new classrooms to accommodate the growing community.
• 1935–1938 (Rev. Mark Sanjeeva Rao): Led the institution through a steady transitional phase following S.E. Salis’s retirement.
• 1938–1942 (Late S.J. Kaundinya): Brought structural improvements and administrative efficiency to everyday school operations.
• Golden Jubilee (Late A.S. Carot): Celebrated 50 years of education in a grand manner, earning a reputation for driving holistic development across the school.

• 1949–1957 (Late S.N. Mathias): Introduced Secretarial and Engineering courses to provide practical, industrial training for students.
• 1957–1964 (Late A. Joshua): Marked a golden era for athletic achievements, expanding extracurricular and sports activities.

Campus Expansion & Innovation

• 1964–1974 (Late L.B. Amanna): Oversaw significant campus infrastructure growth, constructing the Open-Air Stage, Kavi Muddanna Mandira, and the Platinum Jubilee Hall. He also launched English Medium classes (1st to 7th standard) and hosted the school’s Platinum Jubilee.
• 1974–1976 (Late S.R. Chambers): Continued the institution’s tradition of academic and co-curricular excellence.

• Late W.A. Karkada Tenure: Marked an academic peak, with students securing state ranks in the SSLC examinations, including a prestigious 2nd rank statewide.
• 1995–1997 (Sri E.D. Sadananda): Maintained strong academic standards and student performance.
• 1997 (Sri M.V. Kumar): Modernized the curriculum by introducing Computer Education, leading the school to secure 6th rank statewide in SSLC exams.
• 2003 (Late K.R. Daya Rao): Served as Headmaster for a one-year term.
• Sri Vijay Kumar Tenure: Improved student accessibility by introducing a free school bus facility.

Modern Leadership & Active Alumni Engagement

• 2007 (Helen V. Salins): Made history as the school’s first female Headmistress. She founded the Old Students’ Association, engaging alumni to carry out campus renovations and provide financial support for tuition, books, bags, and supplies for deserving students.
• Present Leadership: The school continues its mission under the guidance of Mrs. Rekha K.M. (In-charge Headmistress), Sri Vincent Palana (Treasurer), and Sri Moses Jayasekhar (Secretary), alongside former correspondents Susheel Bangera and Stephen V. Kumar.
