About SPOCO Sports Residential School

The foundation of SPOCO Sports Residential School dates back to the vision of its founder, Mr. S. M. Kaluti. His visit to Japan during EXPO 1970 and his observations of India’s performance in the IX Asian Games in 1982 inspired him to establish an organisation dedicated to sports promotion and development.

With this vision, he established SPOCO (Sports Promotion and Development Co-operative Ltd.) in 1983. Under its aegis, SPOCO Sports Residential School came into existence on 1 August 1984.

The school was officially inaugurated on 2 August 1984, with the blessings of His Holiness Shriman Niranjana Pranava Swarupi Shivabasava Maha Swamiji of Rudrakshi Math, Naganur, Belagavi.
