Air Force School Bidar: A Legacy of Quality Education and Holistic Development

Air Force School Bidar is one of the established educational institutions in Bidar, Karnataka, with a history dating back to 1967. The school has played an important role in providing quality education and nurturing students through academics, co-curricular activities, sports and value-based learning.

In 1975, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bidar was established by adopting Classes I to VII of the existing Air Force School. Following this transition, Air Force School Bidar began afresh as a Pre-Primary School with around 100 students and four teachers. Over the years, the school has steadily expanded and today caters to the educational needs of around 800 students from LKG to Class X.

The school has received recognition for its overall performance. It was honoured with the Best School Award in the Indian Air Force in 1999, followed by the Second Best School Award in 2000 under Training Command and the Third Best School Award in 2001 under Training Command.

Academic Facilities

Air Force School Bidar provides a learning environment supported by modern educational facilities. The school has well-equipped science laboratories that encourage students to understand scientific concepts through practical learning. A well-stocked library offers students access to books covering a wide range of subjects, supporting reading habits and academic growth.

The school also has a computer laboratory equipped with 40 computers, along with printers and scanners. The facility helps students develop essential information technology skills and become familiar with digital learning.

Sports and Co-Curricular Activities

Recognising the importance of holistic development, the school divides students into four houses. Regular inter-house competitions are organised in academics, sports and cultural activities. These events encourage teamwork, healthy competition, leadership qualities and confidence among students.

Students from Air Force School Bidar have participated in district-level and national-level competitions and have brought recognition to the school by winning prizes.
