Deepika High School, Modankap, is a respected educational institution administered by the Vidyavardhini Committee (R), Modankap. Established on 15 June 1964, the school has completed six decades of educational service and is currently celebrating its Diamond Jubilee, marking an important milestone in its journey.

A Vision for Accessible Education

Deepika High School was founded with a noble vision—to provide quality education at an affordable cost, particularly for underprivileged students in the surrounding region. The institution was established under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Edwin Alphonsus Castelino, who was serving as the Parish Priest of Infant Jesus Church, Modankap, at the time.

His vision was supported by several renowned scholars, intellectuals, and community leaders who shared a commitment to education and social development. Among them were the late Dr. Arya Laxminarayana Alva and Victor Raschina, along with local leaders such as Mr. Gudinabali Idinabba and Mr. Simphrose D’Costa. Together, they formed the committee that played an important role in establishing the school.

Six Decades of Educational Service

Since its establishment in 1964, Deepika High School has continued its educational journey for more than 60 years. The school’s Diamond Jubilee represents not only its longevity but also its contribution to the educational development of students and families in Modankap and the surrounding region.

Over the years, the institution has remained connected to its founding purpose of making education accessible while nurturing students through a supportive learning environment.

Dedicated Teachers and Support Staff

At present, Deepika High School has 199 students, 8 teachers, and one assistant. The management has also appointed a computer teacher, supporting students in developing essential digital skills.

The dedicated teaching team plays an important role in guiding students academically and encouraging them to develop confidence, discipline, knowledge, and responsible values.
