About the Trust

Nijalingappa Educational and Rural Development Trust® (SNERDT) was founded in 2004 with the vision of providing quality education and creating better opportunities for students from rural communities. The trust began with 23 trustees and has since grown to a team of 24 trustees working towards its educational mission.

Commitment to Rural Education

The trust was established with a primary focus on supporting rural children through accessible and quality education. Its objective is to help students develop the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to face opportunities and challenges beyond their local communities.

By creating a supportive educational environment, the trust aims to contribute to the overall development and progress of rural students.

Indira Gandhi College of Education

In 2005, the trust established Indira Gandhi College of Education, a B.Ed. institution situated in a spacious campus surrounded by scenic natural surroundings. Located away from the noise of the city, the campus provides a peaceful atmosphere for teaching and learning.

The institution provides students with an environment designed to support academic activities, learning, and personal development.
