Bright Horizon Shines on the 80th Independence Day

Karimanelu: The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at Bright Horizon Educational Institution.

Dr. Shantiprasad hoisted the national flag in the presence of dignitaries and, in his address, said that Independence Day is an occasion to remember the great personalities who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the nation. He emphasised that the sacrifices and contributions of the freedom fighters should always be honoured.

School Trustee Ranjith Poojary Todar said, “The real strength of the nation lies in its youth. Children should not merely grow academically at school; they must also grow into responsible and good citizens. This is the very purpose of Bright Horizon Educational Institution.”

School Chairman Dr. Sharath Gore said that patriotism should begin at school itself. “Children from different districts and different religions are studying together in our school. In that sense, Bright Horizon is like a mini India. Many great personalities sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our nation. Students must understand their sacrifices and contribute to the development of the country,” he said.

School Secretary Shambhavi Gore spoke about the significance of freedom and the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters.

As part of the celebrations, students presented various cultural programmes, a karate demonstration, patriotic songs by students and teachers, and speeches by the children. The programme instilled a strong sense of patriotism among the students and parents.

The programme was attended by School Principal Dr. Shashidhar, Academic Head Jacinta D’Cunha, Campus Head Prakhyath Bhandari, Sarika Poojary, Damodara Poojary, Nagesh Bangera, Ravindra Shetty, along with dignitaries, teachers, students and non-teaching staff.
