About Us

St. Joseph’s College, a religious minority educational institution, was established in 2002 by the Belgaum Diocese Board of Education and Social Welfare. The college was envisioned as a ‘Golden Jubilee’ memorial building to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Belgaum Diocese Board of education and social welfare.

The establishment of the college was spearheaded by Most Rev. Bernard Moras, the then Chairman of the Belgaum Diocese Board of Education and Social Welfare. The project received overwhelming support from the Alumni Association of St. Joseph’s School, Dharwad, and the local community.

The college aims to provide holistic education that emphasizes academic excellence, spiritual formation, and value-based education. Our mission is to empower students to become responsible citizens, equipped to face the challenges of life and promote communal harmony, social justice, and equality.

Since its inception, St. Joseph’s College has been committed to providing quality education to students from all walks of life. We continue to strive for excellence in education, guided by our vision and mission.

Classrooms and Computer Labs

As with everything at SJC, classrooms are of the highest standards and are spacious, and air-conditioned, complete with the latest of teaching aids like Audio-visual and Video Recording facility, projection systems and technology, that makes learning at SJC a truly stimulating and enjoyable experience.

Library

The SJC library comprises of national and International textbooks, reference books, journals and magazines, business periodicals, video library, and an e-library. The library halls are convenient, comfortable, well-lit and airy to provide the right atmosphere and ambiance for higher learning. The library is also enriched with study materials, previous exam papers, faculty notes, project eports, and other research materials, etc along with other reference materials.

Other Infrastructure

Well designed seminar hall, board room, faculty cabins,Canteens,Fire extinguisher,CCTV and discussion rooms with adequate yoga hall & business incubation cell for student activities.

Learning Material

SJC provides books through library & relevant study material to all students. Besides the relevant study materials provided by the faculty. SJC also provides a list of publications for ready reference and a bibliography of references to make them search and refer at ease.

Sports Facility

There is a strong focus on providing leisure and sports activities and the sports lounges are equipped for Table tennis, Carom, Chess and a variety of other indoor and board games. Most of the outdoor sports will be conducted on a regular basis with special support from the active involvement of the student community.

SCIENCE

We at St.Joseph’s college offer special coaching for PU students to prepare them for Entrance exams like CET & NEET.

As part of the training each student will be provided exclusive course printed material as well as the solved question papers of the past board exams.

Weekly tests are conducted on each subject to improve the speed,accuracy,perfection and confidence of the subject knowledge.

Well equipped laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology. Regular practical lab sessions are conducted in the laboratory.
