About Us

Chitrapur is the local railway station of Shirali village in Bhatkal taluka.  It is widely known for its prestigious Shri Chitrapur Math of the Chitrapur Saraswat Brahmin Samaja, who have accepted the Advaita Siddhanta, propagated by the illustrious Jagadguru Shri Adi Shankaracharya. With the blessings of the presiding deity of Shri Chitrapur Math, Lord  Bhavanishankar and the Grace of H.H. Shrimad Anandashram Swamiji, an illustrious Purvacharya in its Revered Guruparampara,  the Anandashram Primary school, has been running since about 150 years.  It caters for the Primary school education of children belonging to hundreds of families in and around Chitrapur which live below the poverty line.  There was no high school nearby for the children who had passed the seventh standard from this school and due to the poverty of the families, there was no facility to provide further education to these children. Considering all this, Revered His Holiness Shrimat Sadyojat Shankarashram Swamiji, started a high school named “Srivali” in Chitrapur in the year 2004, as a private educational institution, with the permission of the Government of Karnataka.

It is the only institution in the district that provides education, uniform, meals, text books and all other educational tools completely free of charge. Our educational institution is run with the support of donors from the country and abroad, so that no one is deprived of education in our Srivali High School. It is a shining example of the deep concern of H.H. Shrimat Sadyojat Shankarashram Swamiji for the society in and around Shirali.
