Govinda dasa pre-university college is an educational institution ,impating knowledge related to arts, scienece and commerce at pre –university level. It is one of the premier educational institutions of renowned vidyadayinee group of educational institutions, propagating knowledge and edifying the student community.the hindu vidyadayinee sangha which manages the vidyadayinee educational institutions was estrablished  on -30-11-1916 at iddya sri mahalingeshwara temple, iddya, surathkal.with the lofty goal of ‘vidya para devathaa’ the iddya vidyadayinee school originated and intiated the nobel task of conferring education to the students of the surrounding started by the local teachers and the philomaths, has been useful to the students of the surrounding areas from the date of inception. In1994. Vidyadayinee school and in 1967 with the permission of mysore university, govinda dasa college was started with the help and co-operation of the local people.
