The President of S.D.M.E. Society Padmabhushan Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Vice Presidnets Sri. D. Surendra Kumar and Prof. S Prabhakar, Secretaries Sri. D. Harshendra Kumar and Dr. B. Yashovarma have a keen interest towards this college and provide guidance, suggestions and inspirations which have made this college grow in leaps and bounds. As a result, this college attracts the students not only from all over Karnataka but also from outside Karnataka. The students of this college receive a special recognition everywhere. There are eight sections altogether including four sections in both I year and II Year. The maximum capacity of each section is 40 and thus a maximum of 160 students each in I PUC and II PUC get opportunities to pursue their education. Right from its inception, the college has been receiving excellent results every year. The college provides quality education and it makes every effort in this regard. Besides the quality education it provides ample opportunity to students to bring out their hidden talents. They take part in curricular and non-curricular activities too. They are trained to face the challenges and equipped with skills.

 Facilities

The residents of SDM Residential PU College always feel at home in the campus as it’s not a hostel but a home away from home. They hail from different parts of our state, nation and even from abroad. Though they are from different cultural backgrounds they live happily under the single roof. The reason is that the atmosphere here is clement and peaceful. Prayer sessions at the dawn and dusk, meditation, warm up exercises, yoga, pranayama at the crack of dawn, cultural and entertainment programmes at the week end and also affection, care and parent like concern of Principal, friendly treatment of the lecturers and non teaching staff and counselling have given the students a feeling of joy and satisfaction.

Besides the regular classes, remedial classes are held every day for low performers. CET coaching classes are conducted by our lecturers, professors from neighboring colleges and external eminent subject experts for 2nd year students. The college has well equipped laboratories, spacious class rooms with CCTV cameras to monitor the students. It also has a well equipped multi-purpose hall, an indoor games room, a hygienic room for the sick, STD booth, coin booth facility, OHP, LCD, a laptop, two televisions with DVD players and a gymnasium for the students to reap benefits from.
